We all agreed in the chat this weekend that sometimes it's hard to stop procrastinating and actually get something done on your project, so I thought I'd put this post up as a place to report your progress. How much did you get done today? How about this weekend? Feel free to use the comments as a place to report your daily progress the rest of the week, too--I know it helps me to report in every day.

Also, we'd love to see you post something to show off your recent progress: a snippet from your fic, a detail or draft from your art, an outtake from your podfic. That way we can all squee about it!

During chat, we also decided on having two more chats before the next posting weekend: one will be on the weekend of the 18-19th of May, and one the weekend of the 8-9th of June.

Hey, just a reminder about the chat tomorrow (Saturday)! We moved it forward one hour to 20.00 UTC (what time is this for me?).

Just ping me (I'm luzulae on Skype), and I'll get you into the chat room. : )

Dear AU-makers! The FIRST of our three Posting Weekends begins THIS FRIDAY. Woohoo!! \o/

Please follow these instructions when you post:

General info:
+ You do NOT have to post this weekend if you aren't ready. There are 20 whole weeks left; it's okay to use them.
+ You MAY post a portion of an incomplete work as a teaser for your future complete post, but do at least make sure your spelling and grammar are correct.
+ Works should be beta'd and revised, no matter what format you're working in.
+ You're welcome to link & crosspost your work wherever you like (comms, archives, etc.).

Schedule:
Post ANY TIME between Friday and Sunday, April 12-14. We're not worried about time zones; as long as it's Fri-Sat-Sun *somewhere* in the world, we're happy. If you can't post this weekend, wait until the NEXT posting weekends (June 21-23 & August 30-September 1).

Where to Post:
You can post your AU anywhere you want. You can post your entire work to the community (behind a cut, please!), or upload your work somewhere else and post a link here at [community profile] alternate_ds_c6d so we can all find and admire it! If you post on the AO3, please be sure to include your work in our AO3 collection: alternate_ds_c6d!

Header:
When you post to [community profile] alternate_ds_c6d, please include: title, creator(s), fandom(s), length, rating, relationships, summary, and any other header info that's appropriate to your format. If your work contains disturbing or triggery content: please provide warnings/content notes (either grayed out or visible), OR put "Author chooses not to warn" on your Content Notes line. Thanks!

Again, thanks so much to all of you for participating! We hope you're having a wonderful time making your alternate universes & we can't wait to see them! If you have any questions at all about these guidelines, please ask!

YAY AUs!! \o/ \o/ \o/

Hello DS-C6D alternate universe creators! There is ONE week left until our first posting weekend! YAYAYAYAY! That means there are eleven and twenty-one weeks left 'til our other deadlines. We VERY MUCH HOPE you can post at least a little something next weekend, but no worries if you need to wait. We are cheering you on no matter what!

Check-in Questions
+ Are you on track to post something next weekend? Full work or just a teaser?
+ How goes? Are you enjoying what you're making? Are you done?

Please remember to get your work beta'd and to revise accordingly, no matter what format you're working in. If you need help finding a beta, leave a comment below describing what you need. If you can beta for other people, please keep an eye on the comments and step up if you can!

Posting instructions will go up next week (by Wednesday, if not sooner) with all the details on where, when, and how to post all your fabulous AUs. :D

As always, if you have any questions, let us know & we'll try to help!

Best of luck, everyone! \o/

Hello AU-Makers!! We hope you're having a ton of fun exploring your alternate universes! The posting weekends are coming in 7, 17, and 27 weeks, so you have LOTS of time yet to work on your various works! YAY!

If you have ANY questions at all, please ask! If you need help or want to recruit cheerleaders, betas, advice from people with specialized knowledge, and so forth, you're absolutely welcome to do that in the comments below. OR if you simply need a place to celebrate a breakthrough or to vent about how things aren't going as planned, you can do that, too.

CHAT NOTICE! Luzula posted a poll on doing brainstorming/support chats! If you missed it, plz go and vote so she can get that organized.

Optional Questions:
What are you making/going to make?
How far have you gotten?
What was the first DS-C6D show/film you ever saw? Most recent? Which has stayed with you longest?

Good luck, everybody! The next check-in post will be in 2 weeks. :)

Welcome! Today is the first official day of the DS-C6D Alternate Universe (multimedia!) Challenge, and we're kicking things off with our big AU brainstorming post! YAYYY!! \o/

We hope the ideas posted here will inspire your creativity and lead to some great fanworks. All the sample AUs from in the Signups & Rules post are behind the cut, and there are ZILLIONS more possibilities. Please share your AU ideas below!

We ask that you follow these guidelines to help us keep things organized:

1. Take a moment to read over what counts as an AU/AR & be sure your AUs qualify.

2. List your AUs in a top-level comment to this post (i.e. in a reply to the post itself, not as a reply to someone else's comment), and limit each idea to a sentence or less, please!

3. This is a multimedia challenge, so please DO include ideas that are flexible enough to work across different formats. We're as enthusiastic about fic as we are about art, comics, podfic, poetry, songs, vids, yarncraft, sculpture, cosplay costumes, dolls, puppet shows, fan-made movies, etc. ad infinitum.

Feel free to discuss and elaborate in replies to each other's comments, and keep in mind that further discussion posts will be forthcoming at [community profile] alternate_ds_c6d. Once you find some ideas you like, make something! The first posting weekend starts 10 weeks from today! (Posting dates & other rules are here.)

Please note: We aren't doing claims. There are tons of great ideas to go around, and we think the possibility of multiple people making fanworks on the same theme is AWESOME. (There could be multiple Space AUs!!!) So! Create as many works based on as many AUs as you want. You may also create works based on AUs that are NOT on this list. And you can either talk about your AU or surprise us. Go with what works for you. There is room for everything; just make it DS-C6D & make it AU.

Okay? Okay! Onto the list! (Now numbered for your skimming convenience!)

AU IDEAS! )

p.s. This post will remain open for the duration of the challenge, so feel free to keep commenting with more AU ideas and I'll continue to add your suggestions to the list behind the cut. Let us know if you have any questions! Also, these are less "prompts" than a wild array of things to inspire your own creativity. Everyone is welcome to use, adapt, or cheerfully ignore anything you see here for your own C6D AU fanworks.

Thanks, everybody! We can't wait to see what you come up with! \o/
