I am very fond of Slings & Arrows, but this hits me right in a pet peeve: I generally dislike sequels to things that had definite arcs and endings. Or, rather, if you have a new story to tell about these characters or this world that takes place next, great. But S&A wrapped up in a way that basically destroyed the universe, as far as telling more stories with these characters in this setting goes -- and because it's so arc-y, it doesn't leave a lot of room for large stories (of the same type) set within the timeline of the original seasons, either.
More is not always better!
I realize that this is an eccentric position for a writer of fanfic to hold. It's among the reasons that I never thought I'd end up writing fanfic. :) But it's not entirely inconsistent: I know of no S&A fic that writes a season 4 with the same old folks at New Burbage. Fic tells different sorts of stories than the original TV show, so it doesn't necessarily have all the same sequel problems.
Soapboxing *ahem*
